FAQs

Where are Honorable Mention fragrances made?

All Honorable Mention fragrances are manufactured and fulfilled in the United States, locally in Texas. Each scent is thoughtfully created using carefully selected perfumery materials with a focus on quality and performance.

Is Honorable Mention a real fragrance brand?

Yes. Honorable Mention is an independent luxury fragrance house founded by Missy Pye. Every scent is intentionally developed using quality perfumery materials and produced with care in Texas.

Do you test your fragrances before shipping?

Yes. We test spray our atomizers before packaging to make sure they are functioning properly before your fragrance is packed and sealed.

What if my bottle is damaged or my atomizer is not working?

Please send photos and/or videos showing the damage or atomizer issue to info@honorablemention.us, or contact us through our website. Once the issue has been reviewed, we will provide an appropriate resolution in accordance with our policies.

What concentration are your perfumes?

Our fragrances are Extrait de Parfum concentration, meaning they contain a higher concentration of fragrance materials for richer scent depth and longer-lasting wear.

Are all of your fragrances blended with raw aroma chemicals?

For the most part, yes. Honorable Mention fragrances are primarily formulated using raw aroma chemicals and carefully selected perfumery materials.

If a future formula includes a fragrance oil or other pre-blended fragrance material, we will use quality materials suitable for the intended application.

Are your fragrances clean?

Honorable Mention fragrances are created without added dyes, sulfates, phthalates, or unnecessary additives. We focus on intentional formulation and carefully selected perfumery materials.

How long will my fragrance last?

Longevity varies depending on skin chemistry, application, environment, temperature, and the individual fragrance. Our Extrait de Parfum fragrances are formulated for substantial wear, but performance can naturally vary from person to person.

Will the fragrance smell exactly the same on everyone?

Not necessarily. Fragrance interacts with individual skin chemistry, body temperature, environment, and even application method. The same fragrance may develop or project differently from one wearer to another.

Does Honorable Mention change its fragrance formulas from batch to batch?

No. We do not intentionally change a fragrance formula from batch to batch unless we specifically announce that a fragrance has been reformulated.

Because Honorable Mention works with perfumery materials and produces fragrances in batches, customers may occasionally perceive small differences depending on the fragrance's age, temperature, storage conditions, or how recently it was transported.

A fragrance smelling slightly different immediately after delivery does not automatically mean the formula or batch has changed.

Can shipping heat temporarily affect how my fragrance smells?

Yes. Fragrance can be exposed to significant temperature changes while traveling through delivery trucks, warehouses, sorting facilities, mailboxes, or on a porch.

Extended exposure to excessive heat can affect how a freshly delivered fragrance smells initially. Heat increases the volatility of aromatic materials and can temporarily make certain notes seem stronger, sharper, sweeter, warmer, or less balanced than expected. More delicate or highly volatile notes may also be harder to perceive immediately after prolonged heat exposure.

This can be especially noticeable in fragrances made with individual perfumery materials because different aromatic components have different volatility and evaporation characteristics.

If your fragrance arrives very warm or hot, bring it inside and allow it to return to room temperature naturally. Store it upright in a cool, dark location and give it time to settle before evaluating the scent.

Avoid intentionally refrigerating, freezing, heating, or repeatedly exposing the fragrance to extreme temperature changes.

Important: Temporary scent differences following transportation are not the same thing as a formula or batch change. However, severe or prolonged exposure to excessive heat can potentially cause lasting degradation, which is why proper storage after delivery is important.

Why may my fragrance change color over time?

Some perfumery materials, particularly vanillin and related vanilla materials, can naturally cause a fragrance to deepen or change color as it ages.

This type of color development can be completely normal and does not by itself indicate that the fragrance has gone bad or that its formula has changed.

Why does my newer bottle have a different label than my previous bottle?

You may notice that some older Honorable Mention bottles have our previous gold labeling, while newer bottles feature our updated label.

There is no fragrance difference because of the label change.

We simply upgraded to a more durable label designed to better withstand normal handling and provide an improved presentation.

If you own an older bottle with the previous gold label and a newer bottle with the updated label, the packaging difference does not indicate a reformulation or change to the fragrance itself.

Are there purchase limits?

Yes. Purchase limits may be placed on select products or sizes to help keep releases fair and give more customers an opportunity to purchase.

Current quantity limits will be displayed on the applicable product or communicated during a release. Limits may change depending on inventory and availability.

Why are your fragrances priced the way they are?

Our pricing reflects fragrance concentration, perfumery materials, packaging, production, and the small-batch nature of an independent fragrance house.

Do you offer returns or refunds?

Due to the personal-use nature of fragrance and our hygiene standards, all sales are final, except where otherwise required by applicable law or covered by our damaged, defective, or incorrect-order policy.

Please review fragrance descriptions and available information carefully before purchasing.

Do you offer travel sizes?

Select fragrances may be offered in travel sizes for limited periods. Availability depends on the individual release and inventory.

Will Honorable Mention offer body care?

Body care products may be released as the Honorable Mention collection expands. Products must first meet our quality standards and receive final owner approval before release.

Do you include care cards with every order?

Care cards may be included when available. Due to inventory and availability, they are not guaranteed with every order.

How should I store my fragrance?

Store your fragrance upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, humidity, and extreme temperature changes.

Avoid leaving fragrance in a hot vehicle, near a window, in direct sunlight, or anywhere it may experience prolonged excessive heat.

How can I stay updated on new releases?

Follow Honorable Mention on social media and subscribe to our updates to stay informed about launches, restocks, new fragrances, and special releases.

Why should I trust purchasing from Honorable Mention?

We are committed to transparency, thoughtful formulation, quality control, and providing a premium fragrance experience. From fragrance development to packaging and customer care, each part of the process is handled with intention.

How does tracking work and when should I expect delays?

Tracking information may take 24 to 72 hours to update after a shipping label is created or a package begins moving through the carrier's network.

During restocks, holidays, severe weather, and other high-volume periods, carrier scans and tracking updates may take longer.

If tracking shows no movement or carrier scan for 3 to 5 days, excluding weekends and holidays, we recommend contacting the carrier for additional information.

If you have not received tracking information from Honorable Mention after the applicable order processing period, please contact us at info@honorablemention.us or through our website.

Fragrance Performance Tips

Where should I apply my fragrance?

Apply fragrance to pulse points such as the neck, wrists, behind the ears, and chest. These warmer areas can help diffuse the fragrance naturally.

How can I make my fragrance last longer?

Apply fragrance to moisturized skin or over an unscented lotion or body moisturizer. Avoid rubbing your wrists together after spraying, as allowing the fragrance to dry naturally provides a better representation of its development.

How many sprays should I use?

Because our fragrances are Extrait de Parfum concentration, we recommend starting with one to three sprays and adjusting based on the fragrance, environment, and your personal preference.

Can I spray fragrance on clothing?

Yes, but always test the fragrance on a small, hidden area first. Some fragrance materials may discolor or leave marks on delicate, light-colored, or specialty fabrics.

How long should I let my fragrance rest after delivery?

If your fragrance has traveled through significant heat or temperature changes, allow it to return to a normal indoor temperature before evaluating it.

For a bottle that arrives unusually hot, storing it upright in a cool, dark location and allowing it to settle can help the fragrance return to a more representative scent profile.

There is no required universal resting period for every Honorable Mention fragrance. Your perfume does not need weeks of mandatory "maceration" simply because it was shipped. The goal after delivery is primarily to allow the fragrance to stabilize from transportation and temperature changes.

As with many fragrances, the scent may continue to evolve naturally as the bottle ages and is used.
